Billie was another one of my newborns and this was my THIRD time taking photos of her! She was really the one that made me fall in love with doing newborn sessions. She was the sleepiest newborn ever and made my job so easy. She continues to be fantastic and is just as pretty as she was the first time I met her! We took a trip to the zoo and the rose garden, and I think her parents and I had more fun then she did-- it was really all just a front so we could ride the carousel and eat cotton candy!

This was my second time photographing this family this year and I'm so glad they returned for more photos! Little Logan was one of my newborns and it was so fun seeing him again a few months later. His big sister, Sairyn, is just a whole bunch of adorable. She insisted on having a picnic. Luckily, she was an easy one to please and her definition of a picnic was just laying a blanket on the ground. I had such a good time spending a sunny, summer morning with them!

This was another session from back in the spring when the flowers were blooming like crazy and everything was so green! We spent the morning at the arboretum and it definitely had me wanting to go back. I'm looking forward to seeing this little guy and his parents again in October when we take his one-year photos-- hopefully with a messy, cake-covered face!

Oh Miss Clara, you and your serious face. You were still pretty as can be and I love those little cheeks. It was another lovely day at Discovery Park and it has definitely become my go to spot for photos. It never disappoints me.

For Reese's 1st birthday, she was thrown an absolutely beautifully decorated tea party, and got to dress up in the prettiest of tutus! Some of her closest family and friends came to hang out with her for the afternoon, and while she may have thought the theme should be "It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to", she was still adorable!

This past spring, the little guy in these photos, Benjamin, turned one and that meant big, gigantic balloons for both him and his sister! Doesn't it make you want one? Stella is a beautiful ball of energy and her brother is such a sweet boy. This was my second time taking photos of Stella, Benjamin, and their parents, and I'm so glad they came back for more!

Newborn sessions are my favorite and this one was no exception! This family was so much fun and I had such a good time meeting them. Dad wasn't at all afraid to be unbelievably goofy for the sake of getting a smile from a three year old, and he definitely made me laugh as well. Anais is absolutely precious. I wish them all the best and hope they are loving life as a family of four!

Charlene will be adding a new baby girl to their cute little family so, so soon! I can't wait to see these guys again for their newborn session and see all of the love between them grow even more!

I might be a little biased, but pretty sure this is the cutest baby I've ever taken photos of. I get to say that because she's my niece. These photos were taken back in April when Lyla came to visit me in Seattle, and I figured I better get them posted before we take more when she comes to visit this week! I can't wait to see this little bugger, now seven months old, and hear her infectious little laugh in person!

Oh, Andrew, you are these sweetest kid. Every time I see Andrew, or should I say Andrew sees me, he gets the biggest grin on his face, and it melts my heart over and over again. He's going to be such a heart breaker when he gets older smiling and flirting with all of the girls like that. Andrew was one of my newborns and it's so fun to see him change and grow into a little man. His parents, two people I'm very happy to call friends, are amazing, beautiful individuals inside and out. THANK YOU Becky & Adam for continuing to put your faith in me and letting me take photos of such an adorable kid!

I'm so excited to share these photos for so many reasons! 1. Just look at that handsome little man! Phineas is going to be breaking hearts when he gets older, especially if he keeps up with that style. 2. Discovery Park. I think every photographer in Seattle is enormously grateful we have such a beautiful setting smack dab in the middle of our city. 3. Gorgeous morning light. 4. So much love and plenty of it to go around for the next little one they'll be welcoming in October! Ellen is incredibly talented with her knitting skills and I was blown away by the socks she made for the birth announcement photos!
Thank you guys so much for getting up in the morning to meet me and catch that golden light!
Anthony, Amanda & Avery
This incredible family wanted something "Seattle-ish" and I think we definitely accomplished that! The waterfront downtown might be my new favorite place for photos! The cloudy evening only brought out the Seattle aspect more and I love how the overall look of the shoot turned out. And doesn't Avery have the cutest smile? She was such a doll and she is going to make an amazing big sister come October! Congrats again you guys!

This session is definitely at the top of my list of favorites! I was told Lily was a very serious kid, but that didn't last long. We started out in their home and then went for a little walk around the neighborhood to a nearby park and Lily's seriousness quickly disappeared! I obviously love all of the sessions I do, but when it's close to home and kids are familiar with their surroundings, their personalities really shine and they are so much fun! As you can tell from the last photo, we were the best of friends by the end of the session. :) It was a lovely spring day, and it was girl scout season so cookies made it even better! Thank you so much Bruce and Deb for getting in touch with me! It was an absolute pleasure spending time with you and Lily!

This session was special because it was all about the grandparents and grandkids! Jeff and Kristy were kind enough to invite me into their beautiful home and I loved being able to photography the special bond between them and the kids. Seeing a grandpa pull out play-dough to play with his granddaughter is one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

Crystal and her family came out to visit from Wisconsin and as always, it was so good to see her! Of course I wish we lived closer to one another, but when I do see her, it's like we just saw each other yesterday. She is such a good mom, an amazing person, and I feel so lucky that we've been able to keep in touch.
Something I absolutely love about these photos is the bright colors the kids are all wearing, despite the cloudy day. In the winter season when the gloomy and rainy days hit, adults in Seattle tends to eliminate color from their wardrobes and default to black, gray, etc. (Am I right?), but I remember looking around that day, especially at Carkeek Park and seeing all the colorful little kids running around. Aislyn and Jesse came to hang out too!

I feel like my blog is being taken over by newborn babies, but I'm more than OK with that, especially when they are as cute as this guy. Logan was the best little newborn poser and slept through the entire session, giving me lots of those sleepy baby photos I love so much! Isn't he just so stinking cute!? I mean, really. John & Carey - Thank you again for welcoming me into your home and letting me meet your marvelous children!

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for this family. My favorite two-year-old Aislyn (who was the first newborn I ever took photos of and who really started my newborn photo obsession), now has a baby brother! He was just twelve hours old at this point, but so wide-eyed and ready to check out the world. He stole my heart the second I held him and he looked up at me with those magnificent eyes. Jesse and Juliana-- you make some insanely adorable kids and thank you for letting me be such a big part of their lives!
Read MoreLyla Jean {newborn}
My sister and her husband brought into this world a super cute, wee little thing-- Lyla Jean! She was 5 1/2 weeks early, and definitely surprised all of us! Despite her unexpected arrival, she was a healthy baby who just needed some help figuring out the whole eating thing without immediately falling asleep every time. I made my way out to Denver to visit as soon as she was able to go home and she did a very good job of making me fall in love with her. She lives with two dogs and a cat and they were all smitten with her right away, especially Claira the cockapoo. Anytime Lyla made a noise, Claira felt the need to go give her a kiss.
Needless to say, I can't wait to see this special little girl again (and again, and again) and wish I lived closer so I could see her and cuddle her everyday.
Todd, Caitlin & Callan
I couldn't possibly allow not getting this sweet, happy kid and his parents on the blog, even if these were Christmas card photos and it's now almost March....... I met Callan when he was just a few weeks old. In fact, he was one of the first few babies I took photos of and a big part of how I started getting into doing newborn sessions and loving them so much. It's so fun getting to see all of the tiny little babies and how they change and grow into such amazing kids. Caitlin and Todd, thank you for coming back again and again and letting me take photos of this little man!
